Aufhauser carbon steel filler metals are produced to exacting compliance with the standards of AWS A5.18. Please refer to our Tech Guide for more technical information.

Aufhauser ER70S-2: A premium, multiple deoxidized, wire. Produces high quality welds in most grades of carbon steels.

Aufhauser ER70S-3: Aufhauser ER70S3 Electrodes and rods are low carbon steels for gas shielded arc welding, it is intended for welding single-pass and multi-pass welds. Typical base metal specifications are ASTM A36, A285-C, A515-55 and A516-70.

Aufhauser E70S-6: Aufhauser E70S6 electrodes and rods are low carbon steels with higher manganese and silicon contains than 70S3. This alloy is used where smooth weld beads and low spatters are desired (e.g. sheet metal applications). Aufhauser E70S6 process superior mechanical properties and bead appearance. With Higher deposit strengths and added de-oxidation elements, E70S6 is best for welding over rust and scale or welding of rimmed steels. Good for out-of-position welding using short-circuiting transfer.
